Sandle studied at the Slade School of fine Art, London. During a stay in Paris 1959-1960 he concentrated on lithography. Returning to England he taught, first at the Leicester College of Art and then the Coventry College of Art. During this time he became a sculptor. He taught in Canada for some years, returning to Europe and becoming Professor of Sculpture at Pforzhheim, Germany, then in Karslruhe. He has had great success internationally and his sculpture is in major public collections world-wide
